About the Book
First installment of 'The Private Session', a photobook based around loneliness stemming from self-isolation.
" With time I’ve come to realize that everyone who is now or has been in the age group defined as “youth,” has dealt with the personal weakness felt from succumbing to pressure; everyone feels frail and decrepit at one point or another.
Many of my peers were been born into families of gentry with a rough idea of their life’s track and purpose presented at birth. On the other hand, a great portion of the kids who I surrounded myself with as a teenager were not as lucky, and have had to deal with the trial and error of figuring out what we as humans were meant to do on this Earth.
With the use of depression-fueled photography, The Private Session makes visible this struggle youth in America deal with today. “The youth of today is a lost generation,” is a quote that has been relevant throughout my image making.
Some may see us as lost in the sense that we aren’t connected with the rest of society, but I see us as lost in the sense that we can’t seem to find meaning in our own lives."
