About the Book
Sonny the Scarecrow is the story of an eight-year-old scarecrow whose dream to become a firefighter interferes with his parents’ traditional scarecrowing family business. When Sonny learns that his parents have decided to plan his future for him and insist he attend Scaring School, he retaliates by running away from home. Determined to become a firefighter, Sonny hops the midnight train out of town. Just as he succeeds with step one of his plan, he encounters trouble with the local authorities and suddenly nothing seems sure. Against all odds, Sonny overcomes the obstacles that stand in the way of making his dream come true when he comes face to face with an out-of-control fire headed straight toward the farm where Sonny and his parents live.

About the Creator
Michael Worley spends most of his free time writing children’s short stories. His passion for writing started while he was just a child and he’s been sanding the rough edges of his craft with furious effort and endless practice ever since. Michael is the author of Sonny the Scarecrow, A Dog's Tale, Lacey Shoestring’s Amazing Red Wagon Adventure, The Quiet Giant, Everett the Piano, Schroeder, and Have You Seen Henry? Michael owned and operated Pyramid Productions, Inc., in Dallas, Texas for fifteen years. He produced script-to-screen turnkey film and video productions for corporate and commercial advertising. Michael presently owns and operates a successful residential property management company located in Dallas, Texas.
