About the Book
A comic novel, in the form of a diary kept by a Yorkshire miner, recording the goings-on in his Victorian Methodist church (illustrated with black and white pen drawings and advertisements for strange Victorian religious machinery). Some comments by readers:
‘It is so accurate - not just about times gone by but also now… Anyone even remotely associated with Methodism (and, I assume, other denominations) will recognise so much that is familiar. It will generate wry smiles and even loud laughter. BUY IT>>>> NOW!’
'This book should be compulsory reading in all theological colleges. It would have prepared me for a very difficult situation!!'
'Highly recommended. Thought I would just read a few pages before bed. Still recovering from the fact that ended up sitting up til 2 am because I could not put it down. I have to say that I did recognise a few of the people in the book!'
