About the Book
A collection of photographs taken in Vienna between 2012 and 2015 dedicated to Dr Feng Shan Ho who was the Chinese Consul General in Vienna from 1938-1940. Ho issued over 3,000 visas to Jews who were desperate to escape Nazi persecution following the Anschluss with Austria in March 1938. The rush for visas assumed panic proportions during and immediately after Kristallnacht, in November 1938, when thousands of Jews were thrown into concentration camps, only gaining release if their relatives produced visas or tickets for travel to other destinations.
