Culture to Culture
Designing in foreign cultures
by Dale Peart
Culture to Culture is an insight into how designers from a wide variety of cultures can influence one another.
This is an informative and well-written piece that discusses nearly all aspects of Japanese design: the world of manga, the western-inspired logos, the historical precursors to today's design, and more. The book itself is well designed and attractive with occasional 2-page photograph spreads and other images placed throughout. In all, it's an interesting read that sheds light on Japanese design from the perspective of a designer in the western world, considering not only Japan's roots but also Japan's future potential in design.I look forward to reading and viewing more of designer Dale Peart's work—this was a great buy!
