Penelope Jane, one of Santa's elves falls down the chimney, gets a bit dirty and sews herself a brand new outfit called PJ's. The other elves like her outfit so much, she makes them new PJ's too. Which is why children get PJ's on Christmas Eve, a gift from one of Santa's elves, PJ.
