About the Book
In March of 2011, just after the revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, I traveled through North Africa to be there during a vital moment of history, to show my support and to experience first hand the democracy movements sweeping the region. This is a book of the photographs I took on that brief but intense journey through Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt. The text is taken from the emails I wrote home, an informal attempt to communicate what I saw and felt. I publish it here, in the hope that it captures some of the spirit of change and hope that swept the region during the Arab Spring. This version has been reformatted as an ebook.
