About the Book
During 2009-2010 Ruth Shouval was commissioned to create a permanent ceramic mural for the 50th anniversary of Kolter Elementary School. The mural, Growth and Change, a 24 X 6 feet ceramic mural at the front entrance of the school is a collaboration of the artist with the children of Kolter. It reflects the tremendous amount of physical and mental change that happen in the seven years a child spends in elementary school.
The book “Growth and Change” documents the creation of the mural.
