About the Book
Lotería, the Spanish word for lottery, is a Mexican game of chance, similar to bingo, but using numbered images on a deck of 54 cards.
The pictographs of the standard lotería cards provide the jumping-off point for this conceptual re-imagining of the traditional series. This new lotería collection builds upon the rich and deeply layered visual, sensual and symbolic imagery inherent in the Mexican art tradition. Each new card combines elements both familiar and imagined to create an experience that, like dreams, feels half-glimpsed, half-remembered.
The 80 page book includes full page renditions of each card, tablas, and 12 pages of re-mixed cards.
This is the 7 inch edition of La Lotería, printed on premium paper with lustre finish.
