About the Book
This is the soft back or printed hard cover version. I'd go for the other version with the dust jacket myself! Leamington Spa developed at a rapid pace from the late eighteenth century onwards, spurred by the discovery of its mineral springs. As its wealth grew, impressive buildings were constructed to house the families of landowners and the many visitors who came to take the waters. The architecture shows the evolution of style, from neo-classical white buildings through the more highly decorated Victorian styles, to edgy art deco and beyond. This book tracks that development, with photographic contributions from family, friends and students of Theodora Philcox, who teaches design history at Warwickshire College within the town.
