About the Book
Seventy Hasselblad photographs celebrate the joy of swimming in the sea. The text describes three pleasures: sensual, visual and intellectual. The book contains an illustrated account of the photoshoot in Corsica. The swimmer moves fast creating spray and waves, which produce complex patterns in the water. The patterns are explained with the help of ray-tracing. No painter has captured the dynamic interaction of swimmer and water illustrated in these photographs. The information presented in this book - both art and science - will help solve this problem. Just as Luke Howard's scientific insights helped Constable paint clouds realistically.
