Washington, D.C. native Maxwell Kerr (aka Max Welker) lives alone in his artsy-fartsy loft with his 30 guitars, 300 Hawaiian shirts, a dog, a cat, a goat, and a squid. He routinely receives secret transmissions from outer space which he captures, teaches them how to behave and dresses them nicely, makes them really big, scribbles his name on them so everyone will know whence they came, and then sells them to very smart people who know good art when they see it. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Max is a performing guitarist with 35 years experience with ensembles ranging from big band, bluegrass, and blues to latin/jazz/disco/soul, fusion, and beyond. He also is a successful music teacher in the D.C. area, where he makes music fun for 40 piano/guitar students every week.
